Life as a mom

WOW! I can't believe that it has already been almost 3 weeks since Addison entered the world. Time sure flies by when you are having fun, or when you are trying to keep you baby from not crying, changing what seems like a hundred diapers a day, and trying to do everything else that needs to be done around the house. how exhausting! but i must say, that even though i have gotten very little sleep and not enough done around the house, i wouldn't change a thing. being a mom is the best gift i could ask for. sometimes it is hard for me to comprehend that, yes i am a mom and i am responsible for this child, and YES, i am the one that has to calm her down when she is screaming, i cant "give her back to mom"....I AM IT!!! kinda scary, but definately worth it, even at 4 in the morning when addison refuses to go back to sleep. my prayer for addison is that she will grow up knowing Christ and seeing Him through Brock and I and the way we treat each other. my prayer for Brock and I is that we will be the best parents we can be for addison, and not forget to spend time with each other. I am so greatful for this little bundle of joy. just looking at her makes me smile.

this is my face i give mom and dad when i am not happy!

This is my "Brock's" absolute favorite face. It represents how I feel every morning... a mixture of I think I am grumpy, I am confused, and I don't want that camera in my face anymore... I wait for the face daily *smile*

i think i am changing too many diapers!

well, i have come to the conclusion that i am changing too many diapers and brock is not changing enough.:) when addison woke up on saturday morning, i was changing her diaper, and with no warning at all, poop shot out like a cannon and got everywhere except the diaper. i was literally covered in poo. it happened so quick, i had no time to react, so instead of cleaning her up i had made a bigger mess. it was 1000 times worse than getting pooped on the hand. YUCK!!! the joys of being a mommy!:) brock has yet to be pooped on, and he takes a year to change a diaper, i don't get it.

Friday, June 15th- 2 weeks old today

today addison is two weeks old. we had a checkup with her doctor, and she weighed 8 pounds 12 oz which was a gain of over a pound in a little over a week. i think she is going to be a chunk, but that is inevitable i think cause both brock and i were chunks too! sorry addison!:)

1 week and 3 days

Addison is 1 week and 3 days old today. where does the time go? it seems like yesterday we were just leaving the hospital. she is such a blessing. even when i don't get any sleep or i think i have changed the last diaper i can, she still makes me smile everytime i look at her. and let me tell you...i have changed more diapers than i can count in the last week. sometimes i change it and two seconds later it is full again. on saturday i even got pooped on. i was changing her and in the middle of it, she farted....and it scared me cause this gust of air shot on my hand. i jerked my hand back and we just laughed about it, but then when i went in again, it wasn't air that got me....she pooped on my hand! it was gross, but oh so funny!!! :) thank you Jesus for blessing us with this beautiful child.

such a sweetie

addison loves to sleep on her arms. whenever she is laying on you she always has her arms under her face. too cute!

Grandma Joni with Addison

My mom and sister came up for a little over a week to help out, but they got here too soon. Addison wasn't even born yet. she did arrive before they left though, so they got to spend a little time together

First Sponge Bath

this was addisons first bath at home, and boy did she not like it. we had to make it quick.

Getting ready to go home from the hospital

addison in the carseat for the first time....this was the first smile we caught on camera. she has one dimple and it is so cute. she was okay in the carseat until the nurse checked it over and said the straps were too loose. she tightened them and then addison screamed. we had to make a stop on the way home to calm her down, cause i couldn't bear to hear her cry anymore.

In the hospital

she was so content and loved looking around

The birth of our little angel

our little girl has finally arrived. Addison Grace was born on June 1st at 9:31 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds 1 oz and has brown hair and bright blue eyes. She was only two days late, but boy did it seem like forever. the last month of pregnancy felt like a lifetime. she is so precious though, and brock is such a good daddy. he has even changed a few diapers! :) maybe 1 for every 15 that mommy changes, but thats okay. she makes all kinds of faces, and if anyone knows the "Brock Look", (glazed over eys with mouth hung wide open) she has already got it down. every time i look at her i can't believe that she is actually ours. God has done an amazing job creating her and i hope we can do a great job raising her in Christ.
